Public meeting on Tiger Creek Fire planned for Walla Walla on Oct. 4

Posted on by admin

WALLA WALLA, Wash.-A public meeting on the Tiger Creek Fire that has now burned about 400 acres east of Walla Walla and Milton-Freewater is set for Friday, Oct. 4 at Lincoln High School.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. for the meeting that will start at 6:30 p.m. in the commons of Lincoln High School located at 421 S. 4th Avenue in Walla Walla.

Officials will provide information on firefighting efforts and operations and will field questions from the public at the meeting, according to the U.S. Forest Service’s Fire Information Page.

The meeting will be recorded and published on the Umatilla National Forest facebook page on Oct. 5.

According to the U.S. Forest Service, the Tiger Creek Fire started as a prescribed burn on Sept. 30, however, shifting winds pushed the fire beyond the established lines of containment.
