MOSES LAKE, Wash. — A 42-year-old Moses Lake woman is in the hospital following reports that her son allegedly ran her over with a car just after midnight on Thursday.
According to a social media alert from the Grant County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and medics were called near the intersection of Harris Rd NE & Alma Rd NE in Moses Lake around 1:00 a.m. on November 10, 2022 for reports that a woman had been struck by a vehicle.
When investigators arrived, they learned that the victim had been run over by a vehicle being driven by her 29-year-old son. Medics immediately transferred her to Confluence Health’s Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee to be evaluated and treated for her numerous injuries.
Details about the severity of her injuries were not made clear. No further updates about her condition or whether her life is in danger have been made public.
Additionally, details are limited as Grant County detectives investigate the incident, but they have reason to believe that alcohol consumption was a factor in the incident. In turn, they arrested the son and booked him into the Grant County Jail on an investigative hold for vehicular assault.
Authorities say that the son’s vehicle sustained serious damage to its front end and windshield.
