Kennewick’s Ron Mabry elected to State Board of Education

OLYMPIA, Wash.-Ron Mabry, of Kennewick, has been elected to the Washington State Board of Education.

After a runoff election administered by the Washington State School Directors’ Association, Mabry was elected by state School Board members to represent Eastern Washington in Position 1.

“We’re excited to have Ron on our Board,” said State Board of Education Chair, Bill Kallappa. “His experiences will bring valuable military, business, and engineering perspectives to our discussions.

Mabry attended North Carolina A&T State University, served in the U.S. Navy and earned an MBA from City College in Seattle, according to a State Board of Education press release on his election.

Mabry is a former President of the Washington State School Directors’ Association and is the Waste Field Services Manager at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory.
