BENTON COUNTY, Wash.-An early morning fire in the area of S. Toothaker and S. Meals Road is under investigation.
Crews with Benton County Fire District 1 responded to the fire on private property shortly after 1 a.m. and found about an acre burning in sagebrush and grasses.
One person was in a travel trailer on the property at the time of the fire and got out safely, according to BCFD1.
Fire crews were able to keep the flames away from a nearby house and outbuildings, but a car was burned in the blaze.
The fire was contained around 4:10 a.m., however, fire crews are expected to remain on scene for several hours mopping up.
According to BCFD 1, the fire appears to have started in or near the car that burned, however, the official cause is under investigation.
