Celebrities and Fans React to King Charles III’ Coronation

Posted on by admin

King Charles III’s coronation has spawned some of the most creative memes.

On Saturday (May 6), the coronation was held at Westminster Abbey which was attended by 2,000 Royals, dignitaries and celebrities including the likes of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, Andrew Lloyd Weber, Emma Thompson, Adam Hill, and Nick Cave.

5-year-old Prince Louis stole the spotlight with adorable memes being created of his several unenthusiastic reactions to the royal celebration including funny expressions, clapping and random yawns. His sister Princess Charlotte attempted to keep her younger brother occupied during the ceremony but the press was told that he would “retire” during the two hour ceremony. Although it was King Charles III who became king, Louis was dubbed “meme king” by Twitter.

Perry was also the subject of several memes and video clips after she couldn’t find her seat and nearly fell outside the abbey. She later confirmed on Twitter that she did, in fact, find her correct seat for the coronation.

Another person who caught the attention of social media was the “sword lady.” One user tweeted, “Her outfit is immaculate and she’s holding that sword for hours in heels, what an icon.”
