PASCO, Wash.- Tri-Cities Diversity & Inclusion Council is a community organization fostering unity, embracing culture and celebrating diversity. Board member Clenesha Montgomery-Hurst said the Tri-Cities needs an organization like TCDIC.
“Everyone needs a space where they feel valued, where they feel celebrated, where they feel a sense of belonging,” said Montgomery-Hurst. “It’s a space where everyone is accepted.”
TC Diversity & Inclusion Council awards the Youth Scholarship Award every year. The 2025 Youth Scholarship applications are now open, awarding two high school students and one college student. Each winner is awarded $2,500 towards college.
“We have a low barrier scholarship application because we know that we want to create equity and allow them to give us their stories,” said Montgomery-Hurst.
Montgomery-Hurst, said that TCDIC has a scholarship panel to decide who wins. “We get to hear their heartfelt stories, their goals and their dreams.”
TCDIC is always looking for volunteers and members to be a part of the council. Anyone wanting to partner or sponsor donations for scholarships or other events can contact them on their website.
