A man was pulled from a submerged truck at a boat launch in Moses Lake.
On Wednesday, at about 4:30 am, three people were attempting to launch a boat at the Blue Heron Park boat launch. According to Moses Lake Police:
In the process, the pickup began to roll backward down the ramp into the lake. A 65-year-old man was apparently asleep in the back seat of the pickup when it rolled in, and he didn’t escape.
A Man Nearby Heard the Commotion and Jumped Into Action
The man got into the water and forced the pickup window open. He pulled the man out, got him to shore, and began performing CPR.

As Moses Lake Police officers arrived they took over performing CPR on the man until medics showed up.
After investigation, it was learned the pickup gear selector was NOT in park. It’s not known whether the gear slipped out, or, if it was NOT properly secured when the vehicle was parked.
Drug Paraphernalia and Packaging Were Found in and Around the Pickup
Police impounded the pickup as evidence pending a search warrant. The investigation is continuing, and charges are possible.
The 65-year old man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition.
