It’s a big weekend coming up in Eastern Washington and lots of activites that could mean travel delays for motorists around the Columbia Basin.

I-90 Vantage Bridge Project Creates Travel Headaches for Gorge Concertgoers

In our area of the Tri-Cities, boat races and Art in the Park will cause some traffic jams, but a big show in the Gorge this weekend could make concert-goers even more frustrated.

In a posting from the Washington State Department of Transportation, road construction work on the Vantage Bridge will continue 24/7.

Crews are replacing the entire bridge deck and making critical repairs, which means a few summers of pain for long-term safety and reliability.

The WSDOT in the video above explains the detours and closures that you’ll need to know this coming weekend if you are going to the Chris Stapleton show in the Gorge.

You’ll want to give yourself plenty of time to get to the show and the WSDOT is even suggesting avoiding the Vantage Bridge altogether if possible.

You can expect delays up to four hours if you get caught up in the Vantage Bridge construction.
