Seattle Drone Company’s Ambitious Cop Drone Plan

Posted on by admin

A growing Seattle drone firm has an ambitious goal, a drone on the roof of every Police Station in America.

According to Geekwire, the tech industry’s leading publication (based out of Seattle, too) Brinc Drones is embarking on this big project.

The firm plans to expand its production, marketing, increase production and bring on more workers. They’re taking advantage of a new crackdown in 2024, the US has significantly cut back on the importing of drones made overseas, especially China.

AG Industry Sounded the First Alarm

The first concerns over the plethora of Chinese-built drones being used in the Ag industry were voiced by some experts who questioned what would keep these units from ‘malfunctioning’ and instead of (for example) spraying a crop field,  apply too much or too little and ruin the growth?

Now, Brinc plans to expand its drone sales to Police and Fire, they are one of the leading companies selling to Law Enforcement. Brinc moved from Vegas to Seattle five years ago, to take advantage of the tech market.

With the severe limits on Chinese-made units, Brinc hopes to grow their products. According to Geekwire:

“All of its drones are built in the U.S., which is a growing selling point as federal regulators tighten restrictions on Chinese-made drones. The FCC in December 2025 blocked foreign-made drones from receiving U.S. equipment authorization, effectively barring new models — most notably from Chinese giant DJI — from the American market.”

How Many Operations Use Brinc Drones?

The company says 900 agencies are using their products, and 20 percent US SWAT Teams. However, there’s over 80.000 Law Enforcement Agencies in the US, and they are the ones Brinc is seeking to market to.
