WA, OR Destructive Burglary Suspects Finally Captured

The Mason County Sheriff’s Office (Shelton, WA) reports a man and woman are in custody following a multi-month destructive burglary spree.

   The Suspects Even Tried to Use Jaws of Life

Authorities said the two were arrested June 14th. after being tracked to a casino in Ridgefield, WA, and Cowlitz Tribal Police assisted Deputies.

Going back to March, the pair committed a long string of crimes, including burglarizing the Tienda Mi Terra Guatemala in Belfair, stealing thousands in cash and jewelry.

Then, in May, they broke into the Shelton Latino Market, getting thousands in cash, 20 cellphones and more.  That month, they also caused thousands in damage to JR’s Hideaway in Belfair, breaking the front door of the restaurant.

   Then They Tried an Unusual Method of Trying to Open an ATM Machine

Then earlier this month, in June, they smashed through the doors of the Spencer Lake Bar & Grill, and tried to use a jaws of life to break into an ATM machine. It is not known how they managed to get a hold of one.  Unconfirmed reports indicate a jaws of life was stolen from the Boisfort Fire Department in Lewis County a few months ago, but it is not known if that’s the one they used.

Most models cost at least $5,000, most industrial heavier units will set you back close to $20K.

The two have been linked to other crimes in Lewis County, Kitsap Count, Bellevue and Northern Oregon. The investigations continue.
