See Which Restaurant Yakima Native Matthew Law Loves the Most

Posted on by admin

The new #1 show on Netflix, Nemesis, stars Matthew Law, and he recently revealed where he loves to eat near the places he grew up in Seattle. Although he was born in Yakima, Washington, he also says he’s “representing Seattle, 2-0-6!”

I bingewatched TF out of Nemesis this past Memorial Day Weekend and whoa, I was hooked after the very first episode. I’ve seen mixed reviews on social media (mainly Threads) where there’s a blend of stone-cold haters to avid fans (I fall into the latter category).

It was a pleasant surprise to find out that the guy who plays the main character (that some of us love to hate), Detective Isaiah Stiles, is actually from Yakima and grew up in Seattle! He’s already been added to my growing list of Washington State celebrities!

Fun Fact: Matthew and his sweet mom Moni were recent guests a few years ago at a Black History Month event at a Rotary meeting in downtown Yakima. Later that day, they both spent time with neighborhood youth at the Henry Beauchamp Community Center. What a sweetheart family!

I’ve Got a Bone to Pick With Matthew Law, and Other Short Stories

Matthew says in this Facebook reel that the best teriyaki you’re going to find in Seattle is the place he grew up on, Teriyaki First (806 NW 85th St) and said he grew up on their food. While I agree that Seattle’s foodie scene is above par, the best teriyaki is in Yakima (sorry, not sorry, don’t knock it ’til you try it!)

Other things Matthew waxed on about is who he thinks is better, North Face or Patagonia.

“Grown folk wear Patagonia!” he says, while sitting relaxed. I concur, bruh, I concur!

Why Does Matthew Law Look So Familiar (Besides on Nemesis)?

If you watch the show Abbot Elementary, you probably did a double take when you saw him starring in Nemesis, didn’t you? Matthew plays the role of O’Shon the IT Guy!

You’ve got to see this video and find out the other gems Matthew drops about his love for Seattle!

If you haven’t seen Nemesis, check out the 8 episodes available now exclusively on Netflix. Us super fans are hoping there will be a Season 2, like expeditiously! The show’s creators, real life couple Courtney A. Kemp (Power on the Starz channel) and Tani Marole, really did that, as the kids say!
