Five year plan to address the needs of the Pasco community moves forward

Posted on by admin

PASCO, Wash. – Discussions among Pasco city leaders are underway on how to shape the 2025-2029 Tri-Cities Consolidated Plan and 2025 Annual Action Plan.

Cities receiving Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and HOME Investment Partnerships (HOME) funds are required by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to prepare a five-year Consolidated Plan.

The plan defines strategies for allocating the funds to meet the needs of the community such as affordable housing, community and economic development and public services.

According to the document that was reviewed by the Planning Commission during its public hearing Thursday night, January 16, the City of Pasco will receive approximately $3.6 million dollars in combined federal funds for CDBG ($2.7 million) and HOME ($883,000) activities over the next five years.

The plan now moves on to the City Council for further discussion and consideration.
