Benton County, Kennewick residents can now file police reports online

Posted on by admin

BENTON COUNTY, Wash. – The Benton County Sheriff’s Office and the Kennewick Police Department worked together and created a new website for the community to file non-emergency police reports, even when there are no known suspects or evidence.

Residents in unincorporated Benton County can file reports on the Benton County website and those in Kennewick can file reports on the City of Kennewick’s website.

A press release says the person submitting the report can select the crime from a list on the site then type in the necessary information. Deputies or officers will then review the report and determine if the report is complete or needs to be investigated.

The initiative hopes to reduce barriers for community members and make reporting crimes easier for victims. Community members can still call dispatch to request an in-person report.

In case of an emergency, call 911 immediately.
