KENNEWICK, Wash. — UPDATE 1:30 p.m.: Power has been restored to all Benton PUD customers affected.
UPDATE 11:50 a.m.: 2,848 Benton PUD customers can expect their power to return in an estimated two hours. The PUD said the outage was caused by a failure in their substation equipment.

More than 900 people are without power in Kennewick.
According to Benton PUD, residents near 27th St. and Ely St. are without power since 11 a.m. The PUD said crews are responding, but there is no estimated time of restoration.
